February...

Not a lot has happened since I posted about school... except school. It is kicking my butt! I love it though, so it is easy to get through it. I am finally going to part time at work. YAY! I am so happy to not have to be there as much as I used to. I will for sure have to work more then the minimum hours to be able to pay the bills, but hopfully it wont be too hard.
My sister and I have done some fun stuff, we went to this cool dinner at Z-Tejas that x96 puts on a couple time a year. It was really fun and they had GREAT food. WE also went to the JAZZ-San Antonio game. It was REALLY fun! I love going to jazz games, but we lost so it was really sad. Other then that, I work and go to school. I hope I will have more pictures to post soon. I will post a few pics of the food and the people we went to the dinner with.

I hope everyone it doing well! Love you all!

Back to school!

School is in session, again. It has started off well... for the most part. I decided this semester to take 15 credits instead of 12. It will kick my butt even more then last semester. But this summer when I only take 9 credits instead of 12, I will appreciate the dedication it took to complete 15 credits without killing myself. Ok, here is a list of my classes: Classical Chinese Philosophy, Deductive Logic, Macroeconomics, Science and Society (this is a class about the effects of Evolution on society, including ideas like Eugenics and Creationism) and last but not least Contemporary Ethical Theory. Sound fun? I think it will be. The University of Utah also offers a program for Undergrads that gives us the opportunity to be published (UROP). I met with a professor in my department today that is willing to work with me on some ideas that I have about music and the role it plays in peoples lives. I have some more reading for it, but it will be worth it. I am very excited to work on some of my own ideas, instead of the ideas that the professors but in our heads during class. I wont officially be working on this project till the summer, so I assume that will be like the last three credits added onto the nine that I have planned for. :( Oh well, such is life.

My grandparents are still residing in St George for the summer and they are loving it. My sister is residing all over the Salt Lake valley trying to stay close to school and work. (She started the IHC nursing program this semester and is really enjoying herself). My mom is still in Las Vegas, living with my cat. I miss eddie (the cat) a lot, but he is doing well. I hope everyone else is doing well too. I hope to post a little bit more. But if school gets any harder... I am not sure that will be happening.

Happy New Year!

This is new years was one of the most quiet that I have had in years! I spent it at my best friend Jenasie's house with her hubby, their adorable little girl, and other friends and family. The boys played poker while all of the girls gossiped, talked about pregnancy (I mostly listened for this conversation, haha) and tried to make the chocolate fountain look like a fountain instead of a chocolate sculpture. We had fun, eating as healthy as we could (everything was somewhat fat reduced) and laughing at the boys getting enthralled in their poker game. Naomi, my favorite little neice was so excited to stay up late and welcome in 2009 with all of her mom and dad's friends. She loves barbies, especially the princess barbies, she wanted to show them off for the camera so these are the pictures that i have with her. She is adroable and getting soooo big!!!! I love her to death.
I hope everyone had a fun and safe new years and I hope that 2009 treats you all well. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Naomi with her camera. She wanted to be like mom taking pictures of everything.

I don't really like any of the pictures with me in them... especially of the ones with me and jen, but I had to post them anyway. :)

Naomi, showing off her barbies.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

We had another family Christmas party last night. This party was with the Hanson's. My dad's sister and her family. We always have a blast at this family party, because you never know what to expect. This year, my cousin Melissa and her Hubby decided that we should have Santa come visit all of our the little nieces and nephews (they are my cousin's kids, I don't know what that makes them to me?). So Melissa called up Santa and begged him to come visit all the little kids and you know what? HE CAME!!! It was so fun to see all the little kids so excited to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. (For those of you who don't believe in the Santa anymore... My cousin Melissa's hubby Tyler was the culprit in the Santa suit). We got pictures with all of the kids (well the ones that weren't scared out of their minds) with Santa. They had so much fun. Spencer, the oldest of the kids, kept asking me whether it was Tyler that was dressed as Santa and if it was the "real" Santa. I just kept telling him the Tyler had to go get their presents from his house and he couldn't believe that Tyler missed Santa. A little later Presley (the second eldest child) told Tyler that he sounded exactly like Santa! It was so funny and so much fun to see all the kids enjoying Santa Claus to much. Tyler was a good sport too... taking all the pictures and sitting there with what I assume was an itchy beard.

Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope Santa brought you everything that you could have wanted for Christmas. I love you all and hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, not matter where you are. I am glad that I got to see most of you this year and I hope to see you more throughout 2009! Here are some pictures from the second family party and some of Santa too!!!

This is Santa and his little son Zach... Zach didn't recognize him at all. He was scared out of his wits. After everyone started singing to him and Santa whispered something in his ear, he calmed down a lot. I think he was just a little confused. The second picture is of my aunt sandy and her grand kids with Santa.

The first picture is of Melissa, Santa (Tyler, Melissa's hubby) and their little on Zach. The second is of Byron, Addison (she cried and cried and cried and cried sooo scared) and Annie.

family christmas

We had our family christmas party... the one that I spoke of earlier, on Saturday. It was a good party. My cousin's wife Sarah is having a baby in feburary so we had a shower for her before the party at 2. It was actually a joint wedding shower, because my cousin Clark is getting married on the 27th, so we had a bridal shower for his Fiance Michelle too. Then we went up to my aunt kathy's (she lives behind us) for the actual party. Most everyone that could come came and we had a really good time. laughing and playing bunko... my sister won the annual family blanket that my aunt Suzy makes every year... it is a mickey mouse blanket... so cute. anyway here are some pictures from the day!

Finals

I know I know, it has been sooo long since I have actually posted anything, but it is finals week and I have been swamped. Right now, since I should be working on homework, I am taking a much needed break between articles. They are all so different, but connected and if I don't take a break after each one, I get a HUGE headache. So I am taking a break. I have so much to so, but it is so hard to get started. I think my mind already went on vacation and getting it to concentrate anymore is practically impossible. Anyway, its time to get back to studying. I hope that everyone's holiday season is going great and that everyone's christmas will be amazing! I will be posting more after the 16th... that's when I have to turn in my last paper. WOOOHOOO!!!!

ps good luck to everyone else that is taking finals!!!!!! You will all so great, I know it!!!!

What WE can do....

As I am sitting here enjoying Christmas movies with my sister while she homework (I should be doing mine too, but I just can't bring myself to look at it), I noticed that the gingerbread house i made last year has a very special letter on the front of it. A "U"!!!! Just a reminder to everyone that was rooting for BYU...

I will always support the U... since I am attending the school... and my Uncle played for them! GO UTES!!!!
