London...

The top two are pictures of my friend Natalie and the little pub we went to the first night. Most of the pubs there are restaurants too. We ate dinner here, some of the BEST Nachos I have EVER had. It was fun and I LOVED the name of the Pub, "Little Jack Horner sat in the corner..." haha.

The rest of the pictures are of our journey around the part of London that Tate Modern and the Globe theater are at. I would have liked to see a play at Globe theater, they were playing Romeo and Juliet, but none of the times matched up to when we could go. I didn't get any pictures of the Tate Modern, it is a museum and you usually can't take pictures of it, it was REALLY cool. Our favorite exhibit was the Surrealism one, Picasso and other artists that changed the face of art. We also saw the British Museum, I think it was my favorite, there is a lot of symbolism in the British Museum from the places that the Empire conquered, Asia, Africa, South America and even some from places that I am learning about in school right now, which makes it even more interesting to me. There is also a picture of the Millennium bridge. It is right across from St. Paul's Cathedral. It was SO much fun and I have lots more pictures to post, but alas I must get some homework done tonight. I will post more later (probably tomorrow night).

London...

Ok Ok, I know it took me FOREVER to get more pictures of London up, but I was having computer difficulties. Here are some pictures of the city around St. Paul's Cathedral. it was BEAUTIFUL! The ones that are at the top are from Old Bailey, which is the courthouse.

This is where the pictures of St. Paul's start. It was truly beautiful. We went on Sunday and they were having a service, but it was fun to see the inside. It is just amazing how beautiful all the cathedrals are that I have been in... and this one is NO exception!

London! pt 1

I have decided that I am just going to post pics then tell you what the pics are of..... I hope you like my little picture montage... :)

This is looking out at the street from the British Museum. The Museum basically has artifacts that the British took from all the people that they conquered. It was interesting to me because I am learning about some of these people in one of my classes this semester. It put a lot of what I am learning into perspective.

These are two theaters in London. They are in the Piccadilly Circus area. They are very elaborate and interesting to see. There is a picture of Piccadilly Circus below, they say it is their version of Time Square. I can see where they would think that... but I think the real thing is much better. :)

Life changing...

I have made a lot of really hard decisions for me over the last 2 weeks, they have been decisions that I have been thinking about for months... sometimes I think it was the minute I stepped onto the University of Utah's campus, but they are decisions that I am really happy with and VERY VERY excited about.

I decided that law school isn't for me, right now. I am not going to take law school out of the running, I am just going to put it on the back burner. There are a lot of things that I want to do, that I cannot do if I start law school next fall. So, I am going to work on learning another language, whether it be in with the Critical Language Scholarship that the government offers or using Rosetta Stone from the U of U library. And I am going to look into graduate programs in International Studies in another country.

So here is the question... What do you think about school in Scotland?

I also want to say thank you to everyone for always supporting me when I change my mind (and it has happened a lot). And thank you SO much to those who supported me while I was studying for the LSAT, while the score wasn't what I hoped it was going to be, your support it the ONLY thing that kept me going. Thank you again, to EVERYONE. I love you all lots.

A sad day...

While this post isn't supposed to be about 9/11, when I typed the title, I thought, well maybe I should say something about where I was when I found out what happened.

I was in 10th grade (weird that was 8 years ago). I saw that the first plane had hit when I was leaving for school. My mom always had the news on in the morning before school. I thought, wow, that is nuts and left for school. It was really in my 6th period choir class that I heard what was actually going on. My best friend Ashley randomly had a shirt on that depicted the skyline of New York City and there was a plane that looked like it was flying into the towers. She had NO idea what had happened when she decided to wear that shirt to school on this particular day. It was weird to be in school, the halls were quiet and people just didn't know what to say or how to react to the news. I think about this day every time anyone says anything about 9/11. It is weird what things bring back certain memories. I think for most people, this isn't the kind of memory that you want to think about everyday but it is something that is important to our nations history and should be a reminder, that United We Stand.

Ok, now I can tell you the real reason I decided to post something today. I lost my camera on campus last Thursday. It was a very very sad day. I am not sure where I lost it or how I lost it, but it is lost. I have not been able to find it and none of the lost and found resources on campus have received it either. So, I am pretty sure at this point it is gone. It makes me sad. But, the point is, I probably will not be posting pictures or much of anything until a new camera can be purchased. And at this point... it will probably be awhile.

A trip to a favorite childhood place

When I was young, my family had a cabin up in Weber/Ogden canyon, it is on the Ogden River. It is close to Cozy Damn and Monte Cristo. When I was young we went up to the cabin all the time! Almost every weekend and for most if not all Holidays. We have a zip line that took you across the river, tubs to float down the river, and so much more. One of our favorite things to do was zip line across the river and hike up to Red Rock. It is this huge rock and steep hike about a half hour or so from our cabin. On Monday night, our grandparents arranged with the owners to let us go visit the cabin for one night. A bunch of my family came. The idea came from my cousin Jordan, he mentioned that he talks about it all the time to his wife and would love to show her how much we loved it! Hopefully we will be able to go back and visit every year! Here are the pictures i took of our hike. It was SO much fun!

Fall 09 school schedule

Ok, so school started last tuesday for me. So I am going to post my new schedule... I am sure none of you out there really care, but it is for my own future enjoyment. (I am doing this assuming I will want to remember this semester..)

Tuesday and Thursdays
9:10 to 10:30 Probablity and Inductive Logic
10:45 to 12:05 Evolution of Human Nature
12:25 to 1:45 Rise of Civilization (this is really a class on social structure of ancient civilizations, so far anyway)

Tuesdays only
7:00 to 9:30 pm 20th Century Continental Philosophy (I am not sure what this class is about yet... but so far it is pretty interesting)

Wednesdays only
2:00 to 5:00 pm Senior Seminar (this is a class that we have to take for my major... a different prof teaches it every semester and this semester we are focusing on Motivation, self and agency, should be interesting)
